Day 9

One thing I love about Arkansas, among about a million other things, is that we usually see snow in the winter. Not only do we get to see it, but it comes and we rejoice and play and then, it's gone. It is just enough. We received a good 3 inches today. The thing about this snow is that it isn't going anywhere for a few days as the temperatures are not expected to get much above freezing for the remainder of the week. It is always so exciting when the prediction is made that snow is in the forecast. I was up last night about a half-dozen times checking the radar and peeking out the window.

The sky didn't release the snow until we were in church. There was stirring, whispering and smiling as the stained glass window behind the pulpit started to reveal shadows of snowflakes passing by. I hate to say it, but I lost focus after that and didn't hear much else of the sermon. By the time we were headed home, the dirt road was already covered over which was thrilling.

We made a pretty typical snow-day out of it. There was eating, cider, naps, reading, movies, eating, coffee, baking cookies, eating cookies, darts out into the frightful weather, more coffee, more cookies...well, you get the picture.

And now, I am ready for spring thank you very much.

  1. I've happened upon your blog and just love the time lapse video of the snow. So cool! Wish I could see some snow here in Austin!
